Norma Jean as her alter ego Marilyn Monroe on a random shirt I bought. Brought out the leather / knit leggings one last time before it is way too hot to wear them. I like to play with my alter ego in the form of different types of styles in fashion, makeup, hairstyles including- recently- wigs.. this stick straight style with bangs was the first one I picked out since my hair could only be this straight after a professional blowout and last for about an hour.
When you have a long day planned, driving back home to change is not a good use of time or gas! Cost per wear has become an important factor when buying new pieces so the whole idea behind VerseaStyle is to wear one piece more than one time and more than just one way. Spring has been chilly in the morning and warmer in the afternoon, so peeling off layers and adding accessories is a safe go to routine for day to night dressing. Here we take a sweatshirt dress with leather piping and create 2 different looks which you can emulate with your wardrobe!
Started the day with skinny jeans, a blazer, studded flats and chunky jewelry...
Big, bold necklaces still reign supreme in the accessories trends for Spring 13. They add an instant update to any outfit and are so much fun to wear. Once you start, I promise you will be a collector too! They do not have to be saved for dressy or special occasions. They can look spectacular with a tank and jeans for Spring.

Gruker: a cross between GRUnge and BiKER, ok so I made it up. I mixed a plaid shirt from Old Navy (grunge), leather leggings by Kirna Zabete @ Target (biker), thrifted iridescent shoes by Michael Antonio(chic), a faux fur from Charlotte Russe (chic) and Chico's sunnies. I feel like adding the chic shoes and coat updates the outfit and makes it different from the 90's styling. No one wants to redo a style they already tried without some changes, nor do I want to look like I raided a teenager's closet. Also proving that style on a budget can be accomplished, the entire outfit came in under $100. My obsession with mint is growing... just got some mint jeans, mint Betsey Johnson purse, found a mint top in the back of my closet and might break out the mint polish from last spring. Some Andes or chocolate mint coffee sounds ...wait! foooocus... Pairing this color with black or dark purple right now gears me up for spring and will look beautiful with white, silver and gold in the summer. You know I love some year round gear, day to night ergo Verseastyle ;)
