Simple Pleasures

Doing a lot of this for the long weekend! Chillax time for sure! I could wear cut offs and a white shirt everyday. Well maybe not everyday - who I am kidding? I get bored waaaaaaaay to easily :)
Hat: Macy's
Sunnies: Walmart
Bracelet: Walmart
Shirt: H&M
Shorts: Levi's
Shoes: Guess

Local Designer: Roberta Sean

I am thrilled to introduce you all to a local Atlanta designer. The clothes are fantastic. Simplicity with the most fabulous details. Scalloped edges and cutouts - need I say more? Check her out! http://www.robertasean.com/

Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala

Best dressed and most gorgeous goes to Morgan Denty of Atlanta, GA: I had to crop the pic so.... sorry for the looooooooooooong and skinny pic :) I just had to show the dress!

Ok, so I do love Beyonce and Loreal products... in fact I love the American Drug Store - period. Name it and I have been in it. Probably for hours on end to scour the best deals and peruse the color availability. I have barely a need to go to department stores for makeup, clothes etc. although the appeal is somewhat seductive. Anyhooooooo la... I love the Infallible lipgloss collection immediately. I am not a huge lipgloss fan, as I get older though they have a lot more appeal as a lipstick tends to accentuate your mouth lines.. not that I am admitting to having any. Why no... I do not :( :) haha. Back to the subject - Loreal Infallible lipgloss. I have bought 2 - which is huge for me - I do not buy something more than once - in more than one shade - unless proven worthy. So for me: Nude lips = #815 Infallible Barely Nude and for the nice red lips get #306 Plumped Red. For those with skinny lips a la moi - we won't get much plumping which is great for my freinds that want this same lush color with out the injection-looking-lips - alas - great for everyone! Which is of course my fave finds of all as I am a bargainista/ time saving/ fashion machine :)

Full Bloom

haaaaaaaaaaa! I laugh every time I look at the first photo - the last and first were a bit of fun trying to get a magazine type shoot  - you know the ones that look so crazy they are funny.. like the glamazon cleaning the pool in her evening gown and 6" stilettos?! lol So this is our take of me gardening in Nine West shoes and bag and dress and sunnies from Walmart! The dress is from the Miss Tina line. I actually like her dresses and also the Norma Kamali line from Walmart... don't hate on Walmart! Vintage/ thrifted belt. Reminds you of an Hermes bracelet - no?!

Daydreaming and I'm thinking of you

Yep - need some new shoes and wish I could afford to get all of these (and then some!) Greedy much? lol. All of these beauts are on Solestruck - which is my favorite place to buy shoes online and get something different than what you can find in the shops.
From top: Osborn, Rachel Comey, Jeffrey Campbell, Dolce Vita, & Ego and Greed. Size 7.5 please!

Hair Today

Going to see Erin today at Aura to get my hair done. I love Karlie Kloss's color and cut in the Spring 2011 Dior campaign. I could do with a little more layers to get the 80's height I am going for kind of like Anna Lynn McCord in this post.

Brazil on Fire: Osklen by Oskar Metsavaht

Gisele comes to mind when discussing Brazilian fashion. The lady herself put Brazil on the map (and oh la la she has a lingerie line coming out - hope we all look THAT good!). I mean we already knew the country had a mass of beautiful people and that they could wear a rag and look good. This time we have a business mind/ sportsman type that has managed to slowly creep onto the fashion scene. Oskar Metsavaht for Olsken's designs are far more European in flair of the Scandinavian simplicity we have seen of late, but with just enough sex appeal to adamantly declare: this is Brazil baby. With two stores in the USA to date (Mia and NY)... I would be willing to bet there will be more popping up soon.  For now visit the site at http://osklen.com/ . There are also a few online stores that stock some of the older designs. Keep your eye on him!

Next designer focus: a local lady with a beautiful line of clothes we can actually wear to work! Stay tuned...

In Your Clutches

Neon it IS for 2011: Plenty of choices:

We all have to have a bright clutch this season. It is the easiest way to 'neon out' your outfit without going into 80's overload. There is one for everyone in every price range from (top to bottom) Jimmy Choo to Fendi to vivistyle (overseas courtesy of the lovely Angelica Blick) to our very own (and more accesible) American Apparel. If you opt for AA get there fast as they are selling out of all the cool colors and the point is not just an oversize clutch but one in a neon, bright color!

Nail It

This week I got OPI "Do You Think I'm Texy" on my fingernails and Sally Hansen "Commander in Chic" on the toes. I get a lot of nail questions on color etc. I am a fan of natural short nails with a shellac or gel polish finish but the colors are a little limited as of now. I like fake nails longer and a cross between pointed and oval.

My hubby got a surprise bday dinner last Friday and I had everyone over to the house dressed in 'cocktail attire'! We planned, decorated, catered, and set up for one of the best nights ever (even according to our friends - we laughed so hard I think our stomachs hurt til yesterday!). This pic is before we really got started and my girl Norma and I posed in our Pretty Girl Rock dresses. Mine is from some little shop in NYC (2 years ago) and the shoes are 9 West and Norma is hot in her lbd by Venus (contact me for more info) with rhinestone halter and matching silver pumps (Carlos Santana). Maybe a better shot later... this is from Norma's Droid... lata peeps!

Summer Velvet

These two models show how to wear the Petrina Dress from the Velvet collection by Graham & Spencer. Simple LBD - sure, but the details are where it counts. Love the shoulder on this one and the versatility it lends in playing with some different looks. The line is very casual and slouchy - the kind of clothes that look too good to also feel that good. Neon Nails

One of the fabu ladies of the Pink Zebra Boutique in little 5 points in Atlanta hipped me to this perfecto color of neon orange nail varnish. I notice most ladies are leaning to the pink and yellow but let me tell ya.... a nice orange/coral looks good on any skin color. I have tried to capture the real neon effect and in real life this color is still a little more neon/ brighter.
Gifted blue sun dress - thank you Amanda!
Target shoes - last year and still kicking. I love the flowers and the perfectly comfy wedge... how about that Missoni collabo?? Can't they move the release date up so I can wear to NYFW? (weekend rather)??

Roberto Sanchez

In honor of Cinco de Mayo - I wanted to feature a Fashion Designer from Mexico. Introducing: Roberto Sanchez. He has stated he is influenced heavily by the street culture of Mexico. I think his designs are gorgeous and edgy at the same time- especially the leather details and the use of simple black and white. Follow him here.

Wearing this ish today

I am so wearing this ish as I type... H&M pants which you have seen numerous times here and here and I will NOT apologize for! They feel like silk p.j's. (and have pockets - deep pockets for anyone that wants to start filling them with ad money.. I am open). Of course the most worn boots of the last 2 weeks and a simple white t. It happens to only reach 70 today so I also threw on a b/w sweater.

Neon Obsession

Neutrals and Neons

Summer in the city

I have been wearing these boots for 2 weeks since they arrived (see post below for more info). I think I wore one other pair of shoes and they scraped by fresh toe polish off so back to the boots! Check out the neon socks... still loving these and can stock up since they are $1 (Target). I like the clash of the neon orangish color with the red / black striped skirt. I have been all about comfort lately and living in any Tshirt I can find that I haven't managed to cut up yet - well at least for the office :)

Totally digging the Instagram app for the iphone - have been playing with all the filters and changing all of my photos! I am wearing these Dr. Scholls boots that I got on Amazon for $29 ish and they are hella comfy. I might order another pair since they are so cheap. The skirt is Norma Kamali. I have some full shots that will come soon... unless playing with this app keeps me too busy! ha!

Proud To Be An American

So we don't get overly political on this blog, but for those non-fashioners, do not think for a second that politics and fashion do not mesh. I guarantee the American flag will be on the streets near you via clothing/shoes etc. faster than you can say July 4th. Thank you to all of our soldiers.
