Fall 2013 - Top 10 Trends

Apres Labor Day and time to start thinking about how to update your wardrobe to prepare for Fall 2013. First let's talk color stories:

The colors to pair this season are: black with navy, navy with gray, gray with burgundy and burgundy and navy. Basically stick with these 4 colors in your new purchases and you will be able to mix and match away!

Now, some of VerseaStyle's favorite new items for Fall ~ a mix of high end and low end options. Stay within your budget, fashion should be fun! Spend more on staples and less on items that may be out of trend by next season.

1. A biker jacket with a feminine silhouette. I love the quilted detail on this style.

2. A chunky cropped cable knit sweater. This one by Alexander Wang has a double asymmetrical cut.
3. An animal print pencil skirt. This one at Chico's has their So Slimming technology. The center panel of animal print is also slimming when surrounded by black.

4. A silk utility shirt goes with anything. Two by Vince Camuto available at Nordstrom comes in a beautiful blue and also a mustard color just to name a few, so I will be stocking up!
5. Wide leg trousers. These by Maison Martin Margiela are a definite investment piece as they are a classic addition to your wardrobe that you will end up wearing thousands of times!
6. Trend alert! Faux leather sweat pants? Yes please! And at $34 from Naked Wardrobe, you can afford to indulge in this bit of fun.
7. Chloe medium paraty bag will 'carry' you through many seasons.

8. Get a chunky heeled ankle boot now. Trust Me. These from Celine are gorgeous.

9. A flat super tall (over the knee at least, thigh grazing is even better) boot. I am lusting over this 'Kenner' boot from Aldo.
10. A large burgundy clutch. The slouchier and bigger, the better. Check out Vintage Skins for some unique finds.

Beauty Trend: Makeup at Versace shows included a metallic smoky eye.  We don't even have to wait to try this, it will look  even better with our fading tan. Allure magazine suggests we line entire eye with black eyeliner, cover lid with a metallic color and blend a dark brown in a V shape from crease to outer corner and under the eye. Lastly apply lots of black mascara!
